ATLANTA - (July 20, 2023) - Pond and joint-venture (JV) partner, GSI, today announced the award of a task order under the existing Naval Facilities Engineering Command Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC administered by NAVFAC SE CORE Environmental) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract.
GSI-Pond Joint Venture was recently awarded a contract under a Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center program (NAVFAC EXWC administered by NAVFAC SE CORE Environmental). This project is located at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) in support of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) headquartered at Newport, Rhode Island. The work will include the removal and replacement of two mission-critical fuel storage tanks.
The keys to success will be our advanced planning and resilience in this remote site.
“We are excited about this challenging project and look forward to continuing our support for our war fighters, “ said Pond Program Director for Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM)/Recurring Maintenance and Minor Repair (RMMR) John R. Lathram, PMP, API 653.
The GSI-Pond bid was selected to overcome the unique challenges presented in this project because of our capabilities and history of delivering results in the region. With limited resources such as hotels, gas stations, and rental companies to support our team, we must transport or ship all equipment, materials, and supplies to the site for the execution of this project. The keys to success will be our advanced planning and resilience in this remote site.
