PRESS RELEASE

ATLANTA – (Apr. 3, 2026) – Pond & Company (“Pond”), an industry leader in engineering, architecture, planning, and construction management services, has been awarded a contract by the Riverside County, California, Aviation Division for the architectural and engineering design of two airport traffic control towers (ATCT). The towers are located at French Valley Airport (F70) in Murrieta, CA, and Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport (TRM) in Thermal, CA.

Under the scope of the contract, Pond will provide architectural and engineering services for the schematic design, design development, and commissioning of two new ATCTs as part of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Federal Contract Tower Program. This will include design, construction bid support, and construction oversight, in partnership with KSA, a Pape-Dawson company, which will lead site design.

“Pond is excited to design two new airport traffic control towers through the Riverside County Aviation Division,” said Pond’s Senior Vice President of Infrastructure, Grady Smith, Jr. “Our extensive experience delivering ATCTs and commitment to delivering efficient, purpose-built designs enabled us to develop solutions that align closely with the County’s operational needs and long-term goals.”

Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport is a public-use general aviation airport that serves as a reliever airport for cities including Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and Coachella. French Valley Airport is a public-use general aviation airport located in southwestern Riverside County. The new ATCTs aim to improve airport traffic control, safety, and effectiveness as air traffic and demand for services increase at the two airports.
