How We Started
Pond was originally founded in 1965 as Armour & Associates and built a solid reputation as Armour, Cape & Pond. In 1998, the firm changed its name to Pond as a reflection of the exponential growth of services and people. Today, we are a full-service firm with more than 1,500 clients in 29 countries.

Armour & Associates opens for business. Charles "Pat" Rudolph Armour started a small structural subconsultant practice which, over the next five decades, would grow into a national multi-discipline full-service engineering, architecture, planning, and construction management firm.

Firm changes its name to Armour & Cape.

1970
Al Pond at employee appreciation event
Al Pond joins the firm and adds civil engineering services. His vision and perseverance expanded the firm's abilities to include mechanical and electrical services, providing clients with full-service engineering.
1975
Al Pond is named Principal and Vice President, and the firm changes its name to Armour, Cape & Pond.

CADD platform
The digital age approaches and Pond invests in the future with Integraph, the first Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) platform, solidifying the firm's commitment to being at the forefront of technology. As more and more clients look to renovate existing buildings, the firm adds asbestos and lead abatement services to meet client needs.

To build a presence with federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies, the firm acquires Nash, Love & Associates in Washington, D.C.

Firm changes its name to Pond & Company.
1998
Pond acquires Junck & Walker Associates and expands K-12 and higher education expertise.

2006
Urban landscape architecture design services from ECOS acquisition
Pond purchases ECOS and adds urban landscape architecture design services. This allows the firm to establish a presence within the City of Atlanta, with an office in historic Inman Park.
2010
Pond acquires CEGG Associates in Norfolk, VA expanding NAVFAC experience. This acquisition also allows Pond to provide campus engineering and commissioning services for higher education facilities.

2011
Tony Parker former CEO of Pond
Tony Parker is named President and CEO.
2013
Pond purchases Corrosion Integrity Solutions. This key acquisition would open the door to corrosion control and integrity management services, helping shape Pond's Energy division through the present day.

Columbia, SC skyline representing CDA Architects acquisition
Pond Acquires CDA Architects. Through the acquisition of the Columbia, SC-based firm, Pond strengthened its physical presence in the Southeast. First established in 1984, CDA brought to Pond a strong team of architecture, interior design, and furniture procurement services professionals with a large portfolio of projects and clients throughout the Carolinas.

Through organic growth and acquisition, Pond opens locations in Houston, TX, Pasadena, TX, and Mobile, AL.

Employer of the Year awarded to Pond
Pond is named Employer of the Year by the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers for the first time. Pond receives this title three more times in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
2017
Pond purchased Jacksonville, FL-based Landmark Engineering. This acquisition brought road and bridge design capabilities to Pond.

2019
Pond Ranked #1 Engineering Firm in Atlanta. Pond is named the largest engineering firm in Atlanta by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Bob Williams is named President and CEO of Pond.
2021
Pond acquires CTBX, expanding the firm's portfolio and capabilities in air traffic control towers.

Cobb county office - representing Pond's expansion in 2024
Pond expands with a new office in Charlotte, NC, a second office in Honolulu, Hawaii, and a third office in Metro Atlanta, located in Cobb County.
2024
Pond acquires Trident, a Baytown, Texas-based, corrosion and integrity firm and former subsidiary of Consolidated Asset Management Services to strengthen PHMSA Mega Rule compliance solutions.
