Tobie Grant Recreation Center - Scottsdale, GA
Pond was selected to develop a programming and concept package for a new recreation center at Tobie Grant Park. The scope of work included conducting programming meetings to develop and finalize a concept building program, engineering narratives, concept drawings, and a concept cost estimate for the new facility.
The new Tobie Grant Recreational Center has been a long sought-after amenity for DeKalb County. The new center will replace an out of date facility and will provide programs for the intergenerational physical well-being of the community.
The project is partially funded through federal Community Development Block Grant funds. At the new center, attendees can take advantage of a 24,087 gross square foot recreation center, including intergenerational programming, a library, multipurpose rooms, administrative offices, multi-purpose basketball courts and a gymnasium track.
Pond explored and developed the concepts for this facility, presented options to Commissioners and program/facility directors, and refined one of the concepts for final presentation and use as the basis of design for the County. Once the basis of design was selected, Pond developed full Construction Documentation for the county to Bid the project to a construction team. Pond continued to keep the county, community and commissioners well informed through presentations drawings and renderings developed and refined along the way. Pond will continue to stay involved during Construction to provide Construction Administration services in support of providing the county a quality product for the community to use.
