Pond Welcomes Janide Sidifall as Director of Community & Transportation Planning

ATLANTA – (September 24, 2025) – Pond & Company (“Pond”), an industry leader in engineering, architecture, planning, and construction management services, announces the addition of Janide Sidifall as Director of Community & Transportation Planning. In this role, she will lead Pond’s Community Planning, Transportation Planning, and Urban Design group within the firm’s Infrastructure division.
Sidifall brings more than 30 years of experience in urban planning, transportation strategy, and public policy development across the U.S. and Canada. Her expertise spans both public and private sectors, with a focus on advancing transportation and land use planning efforts that are innovative, equitable, and community-driven. She has worked with municipalities, state and regional agencies, and global consulting firms to deliver impactful planning initiatives that align with long-term growth and sustainability goals.
Most recently, Sidifall served as Deputy Commissioner of the Atlanta Department of City Planning, where she led major operational and strategic planning initiatives. Her leadership was instrumental in advancing key citywide efforts, including Atlanta’s Transportation Plan (2018), Atlanta’s Comprehensive Development Plan (Plan A), the Zoning 2.0 update, the Tree Protection Ordinance (TPO) update, and affordable housing permitting strategies that helped streamline review timelines and deliver thousands of new units toward the city’s housing goals.
Earlier in her career, Sidifall held senior planning roles with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and the Georgia Department of Transportation, where she managed multi-million-dollar corridor studies, transit planning efforts, and public engagement programs across diverse communities. She also held strategic planning positions with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario in Toronto, where she supported high-speed rail feasibility studies and intermodal transportation policy development.

Sidifall holds a Bachelor of Arts in Translation from the University of Ottawa. She is fluent in English, French, and Spanish. In 2023, she was honored as “A Woman Who Moves Atlanta” by COMTO Atlanta for her leadership in advancing equity through transportation.
