PRESS RELEASE

ATLANTA – (March 16, 2026) – Pond & Company (“Pond”), an industry leader in engineering, architecture, planning, and construction management services, today announced that Jason Castro has joined the firm as an Army Program Manager, further expanding Pond’s strategic support to U.S. Army and Department of Defense (DoD) clients.

Castro brings more than 20 years of experience supporting U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), DoD and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs across the Southeast, nationwide and internationally. He offers deep expertise in Army installation management, Directorate of Public Works (DPW) operations, and federal infrastructure program delivery.

In his role at Pond, Castro will lead client engagement and program execution efforts to support Army installations and Departments of Public Works.  His work will include aligning infrastructure planning, design and execution, and environmental capabilities with mission requirements. His background in shaping opportunities during early planning phases and supporting capture and pursuit strategies will enhance Pond’s ability to deliver integrated, mission-ready solutions.

“Jason’s experience inside Army installations and his understanding of Army and DPW operations provide a significant advantage to our clients,” said COL(Ret.) Dave Caldwell, Army Client Lead and former Chief of Staff at Ft. Leonard Wood. “He understands how requirements are developed, funded and executed, and he brings the credibility and focus necessary to provide the very best support to Army installations and our nation’s soldiers. We are excited to welcome him to the team.”

Castro previously served as a senior program leader supporting executive leadership and federal clients nationwide, where he oversaw multidisciplinary teams and established standardized systems to track scope, milestones, risk and client engagement. He also served as Chief Operations Officer (Operations Director, U.S. Forces Korea), leading $9 billion in infrastructure and defense-related initiatives and building senior-level government partnerships to support long-term program planning.

Earlier in his career, Castro served as a USACE Program Manager and Deputy DPW, delivering a $33 million federal engineering and architectural portfolio in support of Army installation operations. He coordinated planning, design, cost engineering, real estate, contracting and construction functions while serving as the primary interface between garrison leadership, USACE districts and technical teams.

Castro holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science & Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Reinhardt University. A decorated Army veteran, his awards include three Bronze Star Medals and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
