Cape Hatteras Lighthouse - Structural Analysis & Renovation

This project included a feasibility study, structural analysis, design, and construction management for the restoration of the 135 year old Lighthouse in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The main emphasis on the project included the restoration of the deteriorating stairs and brick and mortar of this national monument while maintaining the historic integrity of the structure. The project was performed in a time restrictive manner to minimize closure time while maintaining the safety of visitors. Various options were initially proposed due to funding restraints, with a recommendation on improvements. Project was successfully completed on time and in budget.
