Mayo Clinic Computerized Tomography Imaging Suite Renovations - Jacksonville, FL

The Mayo Clinic CT Consolidation Suite project consisted of the renovation and modification of 4,710 sf of existing space centralized on the 2nd floor of the 2.3 million sf Mayo Building acute care hospital to accommodate new CT imaging facilities consisting of one new Siemens CT machine (and associated equipment) and the relocation of three existing CT machines (and associated equipment). Design considerations included implantation of the functional program established by key stake holders, patient privacy, patient comfort, the acoustical performance requirements of the spaces, as well as necessary radiation shielding requirements. Procedures in the area include Biopsies, Ablations under Anesthesia, and Drains. The renovation also includes the associated control rooms, two single toilet facilities, a sub-waiting area, Injection stations, new electrical room, and revisions to the dressing area, lockers and control desk. The project was undertaken in an active (24/7) Acute care hospital setting with special attention to interim life safety measures (ILSM) and Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) procedures and protocol.
