Judicial Facility - Habersham County, GA
Pond served the Habersham County Board of Commissioners as the County’s Project Manager for the Habersham Judicial Facility project. Funded through SPLOST revenues, this Tier 1 project for the County included approximately 65,000 square feet of new judicial facility, associated site development, and renovation of the existing courthouse. Pond’s primary function was to provide strategic guidance and direction to the Board of Commissioners for the overall project delivery within the limits of cost and schedule to bring the best value for the dollars spent.
Pond’s responsibilities included: review of the existing pre-design planning documents; confirmation of a pre-architectural space program; assisting the County with the formation of a selection committee comprised of County representatives; managing separate solicitation/selection process for both the Architect/Engineer (AE) and the CM at Risk; assisting selection committee (as a non-voting member) with the review of written proposals received and the committee’s recommendations for each of the Board of Commissioners; assisting the County with the confirmation/coordination of the scope of work and the final negotiations of these contracts; participation in town hall meetings to share project information with the citizens of Habersham County; periodic review of the documents prepared by the Architect in coordination with the CM at Risk; and monitoring the construction to ensure compliance with the approved Contract Documents.
