Chattahoochee Bend State Park Phase One - Coweta County, GA

Pond led the four-month master planning process for the 2,910-acre park that included site inventory and analysis, community involvement, and coordination with the Department of Natural Resources (GaDNR) State Parks and Historic Sites and Coweta County. Key design elements of the plan included preservation of the natural character of the site; protection, sensitivity and connectivity to the existing natural, cultural, and biological resources (sensitive habitats, archeological features); and connectivity options to and through the park. Pond facilitated stakeholder and community meetings to determine a vision for the park, goals and objectives. The plan illustrated community-supported day and stay uses (especially hiking, biking and equestrian trails), two vehicular access points, buffers between adjacent property owners and interpretive programming.
