Hammerhead Barracks Renovation - Fort Benning, GA

As part of a $20M Design-Build renovation project, Pond evaluated the Hammerhead Barracks at Ft. Benning for upgrades to the building structure to comply with the current UFC for progressive collapse. After analyzing the RFP design, Pond noted that the design did not meet the current requirement. Working with the contractor and supplier, Pond designed a solution using fiberwrap around existing steel members to strengthen the system against progressive collapse and meet current UFC requirements. This fast-paced Design-Build project required close coordination with USACE Savannah personnel as well as our contractor partner throughout the design.
