Kraiburg TPE is a global leader in manufacturing and producing thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds for the automotive, consumer, industry, and medical sectors. They retained Pond to provide architecture, engineering, schematic design, and construction management services to expand their TPE lab and conference room. Pond’s design and construction of a new 2nd-floor mezzanine and expansion of the QC Lab adjacent to the facility’s production area also increased office space.

The existing building had a footprint of 69,000 square feet of housing production areas, storage, QC labs, and offices. The project scope included adding an office mezzanine of approximately 1,600 square feet and expanding the lab space below it. Additionally, Kraiburg needed a personnel platform above the EL-17 line to facilitate the extruder’s safer and more productive operation. The Pond team designed and constructed a new personnel platform for the EL-17 extruder. Pond’s construction management team completed the expansion work with minimal impact on Kraiburg’s operations.
