Pond was retained to develop construction documents and to provide construction administration services for the new JB Williams Park in the Mountain Park Community of Gwinnett County, located between Lilburn and Stone Mountain, Georgia.
The park master plan included a 300-foot lighted baseball field, a three-quarter mile multi-use loop trail, a 2-acre dog park, a 14,000-square-foot playground, a skate plaza, a 60-foot rental picnic pavilion, concessions, restrooms, and parking for nearly 200 vehicles in the new 25-acre public park.
The project was managed by the Pond Landscape Architecture Studio which included Pond’s architects, and civil and structural engineers, to develop the plans for permit and construction.
Distinctive design elements include a street-style skate plaza that is connected to the tree canopy observation deck, a unique element that gives the park visitors an uncommon experience and great views of the parkland.
