JACKSONVILLE, Florida – (08.09.18) – Pond, an industry leader in planning, architecture, engineering and construction services, announced today the addition of Joey Duncan, P.E., as a Director of Civil Engineering in their Jacksonville, Florida office.

Joey Duncan brings more than 36 years of experience in project management, public works and civil engineering in both the public and private sectors to Pond’s Community Development Program.

“I am excited to join the great team at Pond and be a part of growing the Florida-based civil engineering group,” said Mr. Duncan. “Developing and strengthening our client and community relationships are my top priorities.”

Mr. Duncan received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University and his master’s degree in engineering management from the University of South Florida. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and Georgia and an active member in the American Public Works Association (APWA), First Coast Manufacturing Association (FCMA), and Rotary International.

Mr. Duncan has previously held a number of high-profile leadership roles throughout his career. Notably, he served Director of Public Works for the City of Jacksonville, which is the largest city by land mass in the United States. As director, Mr. Duncan was responsible for the vertical and horizontal public infrastructure across 840 square miles, with a total capital and operating budget of well over $1 billion.

Mr. Duncan began his engineering career at JEA, Jacksonville’s water, sewer and electric utility. During his tenure, he oversaw initial installation, modification and repair of electrical power generation systems, water and wastewater processing. He was also project general manager for the Northside Repowering Project, a $630 million power plant. Following his lengthy career in public service, Mr. Duncan served as project manager for an international engineering consulting firm.
