Pond is pleased to announce that its Integrity and Corrosion Management Group (ICM) recently achieved the QP5 – Certification for Coating and Lining Inspection Companies from the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC).

Pond is one out of only 15 companies recognized globally. The QP5 certification has been adopted by several branches of the U.S. military, in particular, to ensure the companies employed in providing coating expertise, consulting and inspection services, are qualified through an internal and external audit process. The certification is beginning to be adopted by other industries to ensure that QA/QC procedures are being performed to accepted standards.

The SSPC independently audits a coating and lining inspection company in the areas of personnel training, organization, management procedures, quality control systems, internal audit and review processes complaint review and resolution policies.

The certification is not static, and must be reviewed yearly by SSPC to maintain compliance. “It isn’t a one-time deal, but an ongoing process,” said David Hunter, Senior Project Manager and Protective Coatings Specialist.

The QP5 certification highlights Pond’s commitment to quality in protecting all assets from the effects of corrosion, ultimately reducing the operating costs of all Pond customers.
