Pond has announced that Pat Smeeton has joined the Transportation Planning division as its new senior project manager.
As senior project manager, he specializes in transportation and transit planning, traffic engineering, and environmental documentation and permitting.
A graduate of North Carolina State University, with a bachelor of science in civil engineering, and a MBA graduate from Georgia State University, Smeeton brings to Pond a multi-disciplinary background, with more than 22 years of planning, engineering, and environmental project management experience.

Smeeton’s diverse background includes managing a broad range of transportation projects for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC).
His transportation expertise includes managing transit Alternatives Analysis studies, countywide and corridor transportation planning studies, interchange modification/justification reports (IMR/IJR), environmental impact statements (EISs), environmental assessments (EAs), categorical exclusions (CEs) as well as environmental permitting.
