Pond had tremendous showing at the 2018 Federal Planning Division (FPD) of the American Planning Association (APA) Workshop in New Orleans. Our Federal Planning and Geospatial Program was not only a sponsor and vendor of the event, but also co-hosted a widely attended mixer at a historic venue in downtown New Orleans with Woolpert.

The team also presented as a Subject Matter Expert on Army Materiel Command Master Planning while sharing ideas with other public and private federal planners.

Our Federal Planning and Geospatial Program won a total of six Federal Planning Awards at the Conference. Three of the awards were for new client products, including an Area Development Plan for Creech Air Force Base in Nevada, and an Area Development Plan and Sustainability Plan for Army Materiel Command.

Jon McMillen, Huntsville Director of Military Planning, and Project Manager Kate Woods participated in a thought-provoking panel with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Southwestern Division (USACE SWD), “Bringing Army Material Command into the Modern World: A Grassroots Exercise in Contemporary Military”.

“Overall the conference was a very successful presentation of Pond as a true force in the Federal Planning arena and served as a powerful collaborative experience where new partnerships were developed,” said Pond Vice President Sam Briuglio. “In addition, our presence at the conference shed a bright light on the growth and talent of our New Orleans office.”

Our Federal Planning and Geospatial Program team looks forward to the 2019 Federal Planning Division Conference in San Francisco.
