ATLANTA – (10.03.19) – Pond, an industry leader in architecture, engineering, planning and construction services, is excited to announce that our team received the Georgia Planning Association (GPA) “2019 Outstanding Planning Document” award for their tireless effort on the Gwinnett 2040 Unified Plan.
GPA hosts an annual conference to celebrate planning initiatives that improve Georgia communities. Of the seven award categories, the Gwinnett 2040 Unified Plan was selected to receive the “Outstanding Planning Document” award. This emphasis of this award is on the quality of the document created in the planning process. Planning deliverables selected for this achievement exceed the expectations of traditional documents in terms of communication, graphics, storytelling and overall quality of delivery and thought.
“It is an honor to be recognized for our work on the Gwinnett 2040 Unified Plan,” said project manager, Eric Lusher. “Gwinnett County is Pond’s home. We realize the significance of an opportunity of this size and are proud to collaborate with our County to build a blueprint for a bright future.”
The team at Pond meticulously developed a plan that addresses land use, infrastructure, housing and economic development to thoughtfully guide Gwinnett county through the next 20 years. Propelled by a core philosophy of understanding the collective vision for the county’s future, Pond employed tactics to encourage community involvement and collect data. Our planning team participated in over 80 events over the course of 2018 to solicit feedback and input throughout the plan’s development.
Pond developed the resulting Gwinnett’s Unified Plan to tell a story about where Gwinnett County has been and where it can go. To support this narrative, the plan document emphasizes its accessibility by relying less on text and technical jargon and instead utilizing maps, graphics, and other imagery.
In alignment with our dedication to creating unique ways to execute projects, Pond is proud of the work we do to enhance the lives of those in our community.
