ATLANTA – (07.09.20) – Pond, an industry leader in planning, architecture, engineering and construction management, is excited to introduce PLACE, an integration of the firm’s Planning, Landscape Architecture and Civil Engineering expertise. Together these disciplines work cohesively to add value to communities through thoughtful and skillful design, visionary placemaking, and meaningful public engagement.

To lead this initiative, Pond has promoted dedicated leaders who further our commitment to providing the best solutions for public spaces and infrastructure. Matthew Wilder, newly named PLACE Program Manager, is supported by Andrew Kohr as Pond’s new Director of Landscape Architecture, and Eric Lusher as the new Director of Planning. Andrew and Eric are Joining Kevin Hendrix, our existing Director of Civil Engineering to collectively lead PLACE at Pond. In these roles, this team will lead our civil engineers, landscape architects and planners to provide better and more thoughtful planning, design, and engineering for our clients and their communities.

Matthew Wilder, PLA, ASLA, LEED AP – PLACE Program Manager

Matthew Wilder has 20 years of experience as a Professional Landscape Architect and has spent a decade serving Pond. As PLACE Program Manager, Wilder will be responsible for the growth and direction of the Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Civil Engineering disciplines at Pond. His experience and leadership will guide these interrelated disciplines to provide exceptional placemaking through highly creative planning, design, and engineering for Pond’s clients and their communities. The impact of his work can be seen in numerous parks, campuses, communities, and transportation networks across the Southeast.


Andrew Kohr, PLA, ASLA – Director, Landscape Architecture

Andrew Kohr’s passion for crafting public spaces that connect communities has shaped his 15-year career. His expertise lies in overseeing multi-disciplinary teams in a multitude of project types. As Director of Landscape Architecture, Kohr will oversee studios in Atlanta and Peachtree Corners, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida, working closely with his PLACE colleagues to provide value for his clients and their communities. Kohr has worked on numerous award-winning trail master plans, parks, cultural landscape preservation projects, and complete streets plans.


Eric Lusher, AICP – Director, Planning

For more than 15 years, Eric Lusher has developed innovative solutions for communities through his experience in transportation planning and engineering. He has served a multitude of clients including Departments of Transportation, Toll Authorities, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, Transit Agencies, Municipal Governments and CIDs. Recently, he led the efforts in the Gwinnett County, GA 2040 Unified Plan, which was recognized by Georgia Planning Association with the “2019 Outstanding Planning Document” award. In his expanded role, Lusher will be directing Pond’s transportation and community planning teams as a unified group. With his extensive background leading work in these distinct disciplines, coupled with his ability to build consensus across client groups, Lusher is the natural choice for this leadership position.
