Pond is honored to announce its receipt of the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE)’s Employer of the Year Award, in addition to two other top project awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC Georgia), at the Georgia Engineering Awards.
More than 400 engineering, business and elected/appointed leaders celebrated the state’s exceptional engineers, engineering projects and industry achievements at the culmination of the state’s participation in National Engineers Week.
Presented by GSPE, the Engineering Employer of the Year award honors the firms and agencies that are helping to build Georgia’s engineering future by recognizing firms, as well as public sector agencies, that have contributed to the engineering industry through the planning, design and implementation of critical projects, through the cultivation of talented professionals and through the advancement of the profession via community involvement and education.
Pond, a progressive, full-service architecture, engineering, planning and construction firm providing professional solutions to government, corporate and private sector clients worldwide, has earned this top employer status by working on projects that drive the economy, provide great places to live and work, educate children and protect the nation. In addition, Pond supports its employees to excel personally and professionally by educating future leaders, and providing internal training programs and external educational growth opportunities. Pond also recognizes the benefits of cultivating an engineering mindset in Georgia’s youth and is active in developing those skills with co-op programs, scholarships, school speaking engagements and mentoring.
Beyond the office, the Pond team is encouraged to give back to the communities in which they live and work, including national programs such as Wounded Warrior Project, Canstruction, Habitat for Humanity, Chamber of Commerce involvement and Small Business Association mentor relationships, to name a few.
Pond was also honored to accept two additional awards, both from ACEC Georgia, including an Engineering Excellence State Award for Seismic Rehabilitation Air Traffic Control Tower (Charleston, S.C.) – Structural Systems; and an Engineering Excellence Honor Award for C-130J Simulator Facility (Marietta, Ga.).
