Pond’s Oil & Gas group was recently awarded the design contract for Texas-based Howard Midstream Energy Partners LLC (HEP) expansion of its Port Arthur bulk liquids terminal complex.

Working closely with HEP, Pond will design a new storage facility, including 15 new API 650 tanks with a combined capacity of more than 1 million barrels. The new systems will serve both inland barge and blue-water vessel docks, as well as pipeline receipt from third-party supply points. The facility is projected to take 18 months to construct and operations are expected to begin in 2018.

The project—led by Pond’s Lorraine Green, PE (Principal-in-Charge), and Gale Ramsaran, PE, PMP (Project Manager) through its Houston office—includes a team of experienced engineers and designers to develop a phased approach to construction that allows expedited procurement and early field mobilization.

“We are excited about this opportunity to help Howard Midstream Energy Partners expand Port Arthur’s midstream outlet options, and to provide shippers with alternatives to the Houston market for efficient product logistics” said Todd Eldridge, Program Manager for Pond’s Midstream market.
