Shaughn Balezentes, Construction Controller, Peachtree Corners, GA

Shaughn Balezentes serves as Pond’s Construction Controller and has 12 years of experience in forecasting, accruals, consolidation and reporting, revenue management, variance analysis and contract negotiation. He helps guide Pond Constructors through project planning and analytics by monitoring policies and procedures, protecting client assets and ensuring internal controls. Balezentes aims to deliver key operational insights gleaned from financial trends and assists Pond leadership by providing reliable financial information and helping develop strategic business decisions. Balezentes is a graduate of Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California and will be graduating with his MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology on December 14, 2018.

Dan Brown, Project Manager, Peachtree Corners, GA

Dan Brown, PE, is a project manager for Pond’s Energy division with more than eight years of experience. Brown is responsible for leading design teams in the production of quality project deliverables that are within budget with an emphasis on providing effective communication between disciplines and clients. He has extensive experience in the design and upgrades of POL facilities, fuel system layout, fuel storage tank repairs and new construction, hydrant fuel systems, piping system design, hydraulic analysis, and investigation of fueling systems. Brown has worked on over 130 projects within 10 programs including project planning assessments at 35 military installation around the world. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University.

Clifford Daniel, Senior Electrical Engineer, Peachtree Corners, GA

Senior Electrical Engineer Clifford Daniel, PE, CEM, has over 16 years of experience in electrical engineering for many facility types, including federal, municipal, and healthcare facilities. He specializes in analyzing electrical systems, providing safe and efficient products for Pond clients, project management, developing project design scope narratives, analyzing project budgets, and coordinating with local code officials regarding permitting requirements. Daniel serves as a mentor to other engineers and reviews the team’s work to ensure quality is maintained. One of Daniel’s most recent projects is the design of Lanier Technical College’s Allied Health Building, a three-story building consisting of classrooms, labs, simulations, dental labs and offices.

 Mike Dennison, Discipline Director, Jacksonville – South, FL

Discipline Director Mike Dennison, AIA, has over 38 years of professional experience in all phases of architecture. Dennison works with the Jacksonville team and provides oversight for current design projects. He also spends time reviewing submittals and RFIs on projects in the construction phase, as well as attending scheduled Owner-Architect-Contractor progress meetings for various projects. He is knowledgeable in code research, design development, construction document production, specifications, and construction administration. He has extensive project experience with various types of facilities with a concentration on educational facilities. Dennison is particularly experienced in renovations, remodeling, and challenging forensic diagnostics for building envelope, water infiltration and roofing projects.

James Donnelly, Information Technology Manager, Peachtree Corners, GA

Information Technology Manager James Donnelly has over 16 years of experience in systems/database administration, network reliability/security and technical support. He is a detail-oriented, dedicated and highly qualified Systems Database Administrator with experience working on various networks for the Department of Defense. Donnelly possesses Active Top-Secret Security Clearance and supports the Pond staff with his unique cyber security training and tactical knowledge acquired during his recurring service with the Air National Guard.

Ken Fudala, Program Manager – Maintenance Program, Peachtree Corners, GA

Ken Fudala, Program Manager of the Maintenance Program, has over 20 years of Energy experience with a balanced background in all aspects of oil and gas, renewable fuels and transportation services including barge, pipeline, rail and truck. As program manager, Fudala oversees the management and direction of the Defense Logistics Agency/Army Corps of Engineers, Huntsville Fuels Maintenance and Repair Division.  Fudala has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Ashford University. He is knowledgeable in storage, operations, logistics, commercial negotiations and operations management.

Kevin Hendrix, Senior Project Manager, Peachtree Corners, GA

Senior Project Manager Kevin Hendrix, PE, LEED AP, has 13 years of experience in the civil site design of projects throughout the southeastern United States. Hendrix has extensive experience with stormwater analysis and stormwater management design. His specialties include hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water quality best management practice design, detention and retention design, grading and erosion control design, plan and report production, and project coordination. Hendrix is a graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University with degrees in both Civil Engineering Technology and Construction Engineering. Recently, Hendrix has been working with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), The Conservation Fund, and other stakeholders to produce conceptual designs to help advance the vision of Finding the Flint. Finding the Flint is an initiative to reveal the hidden headwaters of the Flint River around the Atlanta airport and Aerotropolis region in a way that restores healthy river flows and connects communities.

Michael Katzin, Architecture Discipline Director, Peachtree Corners, GA

Architecture Discipline Director Michael Katzin, AIA, has extensive experience in managing diverse, design-focused architecture. He is responsible for Pond’s Architecture Atlanta Program operations and oversees the staff and the inter discipline coordination for Pond’s integrated design and engineering project delivery. He has been responsible for development of highly visible, complex capital projects during planning, design and construction. Katzin’s private sector project experience includes project leadership in federal and municipal projects, higher education, corporate office, and law enforcement sectors. His public sector experience managing the capital projects program at Fulton County Government gave him an understanding of managing the dynamic priorities and challenges of today’s clients and project development. Katzin is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of the Arts in Architecture.

Bryon Letourneau, Director of Transportation Design, Peachtree Corners, GA

Bryon Letourneau, PE, serves as Pond’s Director of Transportation Design and has more than 20 years of experience in the transportation engineering field. He oversees the Transportation Design in Pond’s Peachtree Corners office and works with his team to serve the many clients and communities in Georgia pursuing transportation projects. Letourneau has worked with a wide variety of transportation entities, including federal, state, county and municipalities, to bring transportation ideas to fruition, thereby improving the quality of life for citizens across the Southeast. He has experience in client relations, proposal development, office and project management, and transportation engineering services. Letourneau has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

John Malutich, Senior Project Manager, Peachtree Corners, GA

Senior Project Manager John Malutich, CQM, has over 18 years of combined experience and education in engineering and construction management within the oil and gas industry, which includes both government and commercial fuels projects. He graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. Malutich works in the Fuels Construction program and handles projects of all size, specializing in design-build solutions for both government and private sector clients. He is currently working on projects for Duke Energy, United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) -Omaha District, and Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC).

Mark Mitchell, GIS Manager, New Orleans, LA

GIS Manager Mark Mitchell, GISP, has 12 years of GIS analysis, database development/management and application programming experience working with private, local, state and federal government, and Department of Defense (DoD) clients. He oversees a team that specializes in high quality GPS Field Data Collection Techniques, GIS Data Development and Application Development in support of Federal Planning and Energy Programs. Mitchell has a master’s degree in Geography from the University of New Orleans.

Pat Smeeton, Senior Project Manager, Peachtree Corners, GA

Pat Smeeton is a Senior Project Manager specializing in transportation and transit planning and environmental documentation and permitting. For the past 24 years, Smeeton has successfully managed a broad range of planning, engineering, and environmental projects for local, state, federal, and private sector clients. His experience includes county-wide and corridor multimodal planning studies, interchange justification/modification reports, transit system and corridor studies, operational analyses, traffic studies, environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, and environmental permitting. Smeeton has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and master’s in business administration from Georgia State University.
