ATLANTA – (11.15.2019) – Pond, an industry leader in engineering, architecture, planning, and construction services, is pleased to announce the addition of Project Manager Michael Savage to its Jacksonville, Florida office. Savage will be responsible for expanding Pond’s Environmental Services in Florida with a specific emphasis in renewable energy, oil and natural gas, power, land development and agriculture services.

In this role, Savage will manage project teams in the delivery of permitting services such as federal, state and local environmental resources, wetland delineation and functional assessments, Threatened and Endangered Species assessments, State Historic Preservation Office coordination, construction oversight and compliance, and public education and outreach. He will also serve in a business development capacity. His certification as a Lean and Continuous Improvement manager will help him drive operational improvement and productivity for the team.

“I knew my experience could add to Pond’s deep bench of highly technical consultants and prowess across the full suite of architecture, engineering, environmental, planning and construction service,” said Savage. “I’m particularly excited to work with Pond’s team because they share in my belief that delivering a successful project requires the highest levels of organization and responsiveness, a personal commitment and ownership of project outcomes, and above all – avoiding ‘surprises’.”

An alumnus of Texas A&M University, Savage earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. Savage has over 17 years of public and private sector experience in environmental regulation, permitting and project management for solar power, power plants, transmission lines and natural gas pipelines. He has navigated complex floodplain, wetland, listed species and compliance issues for high-profile projects and clients in Jacksonville metro area and throughout the Southeast.

Savage has participated on environmental boards and technical work groups responsible for developing new environmental rules and ensuring statewide regulatory consistency across the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, State Water Management Districts, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and state and federal wildlife protection agencies. His active relationships with federal, state and local regulators allow him to facilitate effective regulatory communications and ensure sound, client-focused delivery of successfully permitted projects.

“I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Michael to the Pond Environmental Services team. Michael’s depth of regulatory understanding and network are second to none. He’s a dynamic and practical consultant that uses his regulatory background to efficiently manage environmental projects, gain consensus and most of all reduce risk and associated costs for our clients, said Stephen Bailey, Environmental Services Program Manager. “His close relationships with Florida regulators are an extreme value to our clients and company.”
