Pond is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Levine as a principal of the firm. Based at Pond’s corporate headquarters, he currently serves as Director of Architecture and Design and Practice Leader for its Higher Education market segments. Bringing 30 years of award-winning and inspiring architectural design to Pond, Levine, a LEED-accredited architect, is responsible for the architectural design and management of primary, secondary and university projects.
Over the past five years at Pond, Levine has managed design projects for higher learning institutions such as Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia Gwinnett College and Georgia State University. Currently, his team is leading the design for Lanier Technical College’s new Hall County campus in Gainesville, Ga.—which includes six buildings on a 90-acre site, totaling more than 320,000 square feet of educational and related space.
“Part of what makes my role with Pond so rewarding is helping to create a vision for our clients through a collaborative approach that ultimately betters the opportunities for and the lives of students,” said Levine. “This is what I am most passionate about.”
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from the University of New Mexico, Levine worked for several design firms around the country including serving as Design Director for TowerPinkster in Grand Rapids, Mich., and as a Senior Associate for tvsdesign in Atlanta.
Mark has served as president of the Georgia chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). In 2015, he was awarded the Ivan Allen Senior Trophy award, the highest honor bestowed by AIA Atlanta, for contributions to the AIA at the local state and national levels. Pond’s commitment to excellence, integrity and its commitment to individual and professional advancement parallels Levine’s own vision.
“I was provided an opportunity to grow a program that I have an inherent passion for,” said Levine, “One that complements other programs here at Pond. I appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit that exists here, and was impressed by the stability, culture and accountable leadership that exists at Pond.”
