The campus plan includes over 1,300 parking spaces and site amenities. Our team brings valuable insight through years of designing for technical education, including the Lanier Technical College Barrow Campus. We also bring a demonstrated understanding of the college’s needs and priorities. Our leadership is serving as a vital bridge between the three partnering design firms (Pond / Stevens & Wilkinson / HGOR) working in unison on the project, assuring that all buildings are consistent in vernacular, detail, and approach. DIVERSITY OF PROGRAMS Over 50 workforce development and education programs are offered on this new campus, each one unique. In addition, the campus will offer core student service functions (library, administration, bookstore, café and conference center). The six buildings which comprise the site serve a diverse array of programs. Pond designed the following buildings: „ „ Allied Health (62,000 GSF) Dental, nursing, paramedic, radiologic technician, medical assistant and related health science and wellness programs are featured. „ „ Trades and Industrial (103,000 GSF) Industrial programs include welding, collision repair, diesel technologies, machine tool technologies, wireless technologies, electrical utility technologies and refrigeration controls. The building also includes diverse para- professional programs which include fire science, drafting technologies, cosmetology, and esthetics. „ „ Economic Development & Campus Support (35,000SF) This building provides several flex-labs for local industry partners to provide continuing education for employees. In addition, the facility houses the campus central plant (chilled water loop) and an ammonia refrigeration program, unique to the southeastern United States. The campus central receiving facility and server are also located in this building. Stevens & Wilkinson designed the following buildings: „ „ Administration (46,000 SF) Houses all registration components, the President’s office, library, student lounge, and tutoring center. „ „ Instructional (43,000 SF) Includes Business Technology computer and classrooms, childcare development, and faculty office suites. „ „ Conference Center (35,000 SF)The Conference Center is located on an adjacent hillside highly visible from I-985, and is being designed as a community showcase that can accommodate banquets upward of 750 attendees and 1,500 for a lecture-style event. The building also houses the college’s culinary arts program and student bookstore.
