Fueling Maintenance & Repair

Pond performs recurring maintenance and minor repairs on fueling systems, including Marine Loading Arms. With our organic capability and a network of experienced subcontractors across the United States and overseas, we are positioned to provide worldwide support.

Pond has completed thousands of repairs to virtually every possible component on a fueling system. We have completed over 13,000 service orders totaling easily over 25,000 repairs. At any given time, we are working on hundreds of service orders that are in the process of being precisely defined and approved.

Maintenance and repair services are generally required when existing systems have failed or are deemed not suitable for continued service, either through the preventive maintenance program or as determined by the QAE and facility operations personnel.

Working with Pond

When deficiencies are identified during field activities, the problem is documented by the maintenance team using both written description as well as digital photographs when appropriate. If the repair is not complex, a Service Order is initiated. If the repair is considered complex, the work will be reviewed by the Project Manager and Pond’s engineering staff to determine the appropriate corrective action needed.

Working with our Selected Subcontractors

The subcontractor network of sixteen pre-approved companies includes a variety of skills and expertise in addition to the geographic coverage needed for the maintenance and emergency response efforts. Where additional expertise is needed, Pond will solicit proposals from qualified contractors to ensure best value to the government. Each subcontractor must have documented experience, qualifications, QC procedures and Safety plans in order to be considered for the program. Over the past two and a half years, over fifty subcontractors have supported the program.

Types of Repairs

The repairs completed to date range from simple hose and nozzle replacements on ground fuel dispensers to calibration of control valves and PLC systems. The smaller repairs can include simple component replacements performed during a scheduled quarterly visit to larger coating projects. The average service order value is $10,000, but can go as high as $1M.
