16 Pond | www.pondco.com Pond Ingenuity Winter 2022 17 Pond in the Community 01 04 02 Pond and 13 other Canstruction partners joined in a super team to build an exhibition at Ponce City Market in Atlanta. Themed “The Island of Misfit Cans,” the structure was made of more than 14,000 cans. All food was donated to local hunger relief organizations, such as the Atlanta Community Food Bank. This year marks Pond’s tenth year of involvement in the organization. The Huntsville office participated in the 2021 Marine Toys for Tots Program. The Huntsville program collected 31,408 new, unwrapped toys this year and distributed them to 2,234 local children for Christmas. Pond was proud to be part of this uplifting program. In honor of Veterans Day, Pond’s Randall Bailey, SAME Atlanta Post 2021 President, was able to make an even bigger local impact when he presented a $3,000 check from the Post to the Cherokee County Homeless Veterans Program. Of the funds donated to this organization, 98% go directly to the many veterans programs. Taking the time to celebrate our success and the many contributions of our teammates is an important part of Pond’s culture. In 2021, every employee participated on a team as part of our year-long corporate competition, and it culminated in an offsite outing, where the coveted Pond cup was bestowed upon the winning team. Go Pond! Pond facilitated an event at Flight Works for middle school students interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The Fl ight Works space is a comprehensive aerospace exhibition. Are these the next generation of engineers and scientists taking us to the new frontiers? 03 05 06 07 Pond volunteered to observe and judge presentations developed by 9th grade students at Paul Duke STEM High School in Norcross, Georgia. This event aimed to celebrate the students’ enthusiasm for science and to encourage the next generation of STEM professionals in the local community. All across the company, our teams donned their best Halloween costumes for our annual Pondtober event.
