Pond Ingenuity Fall 2018 19 Landscape Architecture. As a Clemson University graduate, Mathis received his Master of Architecture in May 2018. Mathis was such a great addition to the Columbia team that they offered him a full-time Architectural Associate position. The title Architectural Associate is an American Institute of Architects Board of Directors approved term for those who have earned a National Architectural Accrediting Board accredited degree and are currently working for a firm while pursuing licensure. After his conversion from intern to full-time Pond employee, Mathis immediately began immersing himself in redlines, renderings for interiors and architecture, Revit drawings, specifications writing and production and construction drawings. Mathis has also completed field verification, assisted with construction observation, and has taken on the role of office safety coordinator for the Columbia office. “William is a very tech-savvy, talented individual and I knew he would fit in with the Pond culture of service and responsiveness,” said Columbia Program Director Dave Yensan. “William’s intricate, detailed renderings and abilities with 3D modeling provide a fresh perspective and added value for our clients.” So far, Mathis is settling into his new role within familiar surroundings and looking forward to a long and lasting career with Pond. “I jumped at the opportunity to accept a position as a full-time employee, I enjoy working with the Pond Columbia team in this collaborative and creative environment,” said Mathis. “I feel empowered in my new role as an Architectural Associate and I’m excited to see our projects come to fruition and have a positive impact on the communities we serve.”  Katherine Frye Communications Coordinator I feel empowered in my new role as an Architectural Associate and I’m excited to see our projects come to fruition I enjoy working with the Pond Columbia team in this collaborative and creative environment
