Berckmans Road Augusta, GA Safety Improvements Widening & Relocation AUGUSTA/RICHMOND COUNTY Pond is PM and Engineer for safety improvement and realignment of Berckmans Road. This project consists of the design of a 1.8 mile roadway improvement and realignment. The project will widen the southern half of this road to three lanes and will realign the northern section connecting Berckmans Road to Alexander Road at Washington Avenue. This design will involve extensive coordination with wetlands, historic resources, and community stakeholders. The design will accommodate the needs of through traffic, as well as local neighborhoods. It will include facilities for pedestrian and bicycle traffic, and will accommodate heavy traffic volumes and pedestrian crossing needs associated with special golf events. Pond is performing the traffic analysis and leading design work on this project. Ingenuity
