Wally Park - College Park, GA
This project involves the acquisition and redevelopment of a former apartment complex as part of the relocation and expansion of the existing off-airport parking facility. Pond staff have been assisting the owner with numerous regulatory agency coordination items and approvals including City of College Park, Georgia DOT, Fulton County, Georgia Power, Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia, City of Atlanta, Colonial Gas, and College Park Power. This commercial mixed use development is planned to include the following: a new 2,000 parking space Wally Park and supporting operations buildings; a fuel / convenience market; a pharmacy; 3 restaurants; and 2 hotels. The supporting infrastructure includes a new median break at Camp Creek Parkway with full signalization; a new public road to serve the new business and more importantly to provide access to the adjoining residential complex for emergency services. New internal and frontage sidewalks and lighting is proposed to provide safe pathways to local mass transit facilities and to encourage local residents to patronize the various businesses. Construction is anticipated to commence in early 2014.
