Pond provided comprehensive architecture and engineering services for the Design-Build of multiple facilities, including this 32,000 sf complex for the Special Operations Forces (SOF) stationed at Hurlburt Field, Florida. Full services design included architecture, structural, civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as landscape design and construction management; programming, space planning and multiple building layout; foundation and structural frame design; mechanical system design including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection; electrical system design with power lighting, communications and security systems that incorporated enhanced Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) requirements. The SOF Equipment Storage Building, the SOF Supply Warehouse Facility and the SOF Material Storage Facility were sited inside the SOF Redhorse Compound in an area located to the southeast of building 91147. All facilities were designed to be LEED® Certified, while also blending seamlessly with the current architectural character of Hurlburt Field.
Main components of the facilities include:
- Administrative Office Areas
- Equipment Storage Rooms & Arms Vault
- Meeting Rooms & Classrooms
