SPCRR Plan & Storage Tank Management Plan Updates - Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy
Pond reviewed and updated the three-volume Spill Prevention, Control, Response & Reporting (SPCRR) Plan and Storage Tank Management Plans for the Naval Air Station (NAS) in Sigonella, Italy. The project included visually inspecting over 140 aboveground and underground tank locations, evaluating each for compliance with the Final Governing Standards and Unified Facility Codes.
The SPCRR followed the newest format requested by the Naval European Command (EUCOM) for emergency response plans and communication. The site specific plan included an updated Hazardous Material Inventory in addition to the documentation on fuel storage on base. The covered sites included both NAS bases as well as two remote locations managed by NAS Sigonella.
The storage tank management plan included a new Microsoft Access Database of all of the storage tanks located on the four base facilities. The database included details on each tank including the tank construction, release detection, overfill prevention and other compliance requirements. It was also written to allow tracking of inspections and tests performed on each tank system. The recommendations in the plan included required tasks to maintain compliance and best management practices.
