Roswell Road Corridor Study - Sandy Springs, GA
The City of Sandy Springs commissioned the Roswell Road Corridor LCI study to revitalize and enhance the Roswell Road corridor as a mixed-use and mixed-income “Main Street” that supports alternative modes of transportation, protects neighborhoods, reflects demographic changes, and lays the foundation for a better quality of life for residents, workers and visitors. The consultant team developed the plan based on the vision and goals of the community, which included residents, businesses, property owners, stakeholders, city officials and other civic and social institutions.
The LCI study recommended several initiatives which are designed to leverage the existing resources of the study area to promote a vibrant and sustainable community with a unique identity and a sense of place. As the transportation planning subconsultant, Pond developed the LCI plan with the consultant team and the community and made recommendations regarding connectivity and circulation, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, roadway operations, and traffic calming on residential roadways.
