Ronald Reagan Boulevard Extension - Forsyth County, GA

This SPLOST-funded County project consisted of a four-mile new alignment roadway, including a four-lane divided urban roadway with raised median and multi-use path. This segment will move in excess of 35,000 vehicles per day in the design year, and represents the final leg of Ronald Reagan Boulevard, completing a 16-mile corridor that stretches from Alpharetta to Cumming, paralleling GA 400. The project included a new bridge over Big Creek, extensive retaining walls, and a multi-million dollar wetland mitigation. New and modified traffic signals were included, as well as adjustments to the adjacent Big Creek Greenway. Extensive coordination with the US Army Corps of Engineers (COE) was performed, and multiple revisions to the alignment were made to minimize ecological impacts prior to receiving approval on an Alternatives Analysis. The project also included stakeholder involvement, survey, environmental services, and design.
