Rockdale River Trail - Stockbridge, GA

The Rockdale River Trail, when connected to the developing Arabia Mountain Trail, will form the backbone for the 40,000-acre Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area’s greenway and trail network.
Pond & Company developed the master plan for this 13-mile trail that will connect DeKalb County to Panola Mountain State Park, South Rockdale Community Park and the Monastery of the Holy Spirit, all within the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area—the largest green-space in Rockdale County. The trail, which traverses the South River riparian corridor, includes both solid-surface trails and boardwalk across sensitive wetlands, as well as a clear-span bridge across
the South River.

The master plan divides the trail into six segments for implementation. It provides estimated quantities and costs for each trail component, with design, maintenance and implementation strategies for the successful completion of the greenway.
