Replacement of Jet Fuel Storage Complex - Duke Field, Eglin Air Force Base, FL

Pond provided design for fuel systems, engineering services and construction administration for this project under an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Fuels Design contract. This project involved two phases. Phase 1 involved two new 2,500 BBL above ground storage tanks with concrete containment dikes, two 600 GPM truck loading pumps, filtration and loading islands, two 300 GPM truck off-loading pumps, air elimination system, filtration and controls, Petroleum, Oil & Lubricant (POL) Operations Building including fuels lab and admin support spaces and refueler (R-11) parking positions. Phase 2 involved the demolition of the existing fuel facility.

Task orders included design and programming for new/additions to/upgrade of POL facilities including:

  • Above ground storage tanks
  • 2,400 gallon per minute hydrant fuel distribution systems including pumps, valves, hydrant and filter separators
  • Bulk storage systems, transfer pumphouses and controls
  • Buildings including pump houses, petroleum operations buildings and generator buildings
  • Infrastructure design for POL facility-related site utilities
  • Site planning
  • Projects
  • Aircraft parking aprons (pavement design), fuel pits, fill stands, off-load facilities and roads
  • Cathodic protection
  • Fire protection NATO cut-and-cover tanks
  • Underground storage tank
  • Special coatings and paints
