Piedmont Technical College Student Center - Greenwood, SC
PTC’s goal was to update its student center/cafeteria, creating a more contemporary, welcoming atmosphere for students. The Interior Design Studio’s solution upgraded the spaces to include a new accessible toilet, student lounge, student dining area, kitchenette and outdoor break area. To encourage students to linger, the designers created a “coffee house” atmosphere, with vinyl plank flooring and solid surface counters, unique lighting and additional electrical outlets to support portable electronics, with new furniture, finishes and lighting, all durable enough to withstand heavy daily usage. This design created significant impact with a modest budget.
