Pedestrian Underpass - Morrow, GA

Pond provided design services to develop a mixed-use development in the downtown Morrow  area. This area will interconnect with a proposed rail station and a city-wide path system to be developed in two phases. The improvements include a streetscape/park area and a multi-use trail connection (underpass) under the adjacent five-lane SR 54. Streetscaping was completed in 2009 and included brickpavers, granite seat walls, street benches, pergolas, and more. The underpass was completed in 2012, and safely facilitates pedestrian and bicycle traffic from the park area and future rail station. Both the underpass and the streetscape project were federally funded. Stimulus funds were used to construct the project, requiring environmental documentation and GDOT oversight.
