FAA Arc Flash Studies - Guam

The Guam site consisted of 218 points of interest, and a week on-site. The building model consisted of six scenarios involving two generators, two separate UPS, and transfer switches located at each individual critical panel. The facility is fed with a 1,000A, 480V feed that is split into two separate feeders, A and B, for redundancy. In addition there are two 750kVA generators to back up the facility for complete redundancy. Due to the nature of this facility shutting off power for the data collection, a portion of the project was not allowed, and certain critical panel we were required to open during the night shift while air traffic was low. All switch boards, panels, circuit breakers and disconnects were opened while live and data was collected. Pond did remove the covers, and though the team did not enter the electrical can, all site data was for observation only. Due to the location, Pond employees were required to travel a couple of days prior to the start of the site visit in order to ensure safety while on site.
