Jet Fuel Complex - Southwest Florida International Airport, Fort Myers, FL

Pond provided design-build services at RSW which included the following projects:

Tank 4 & New Off-loading Station

This project included the addition of a new 10,000 BBL aboveground Jet A storage tank and all associated piping, controls and site work, as well as a new two-position truck off-loading station and an underground double-walled transfer pipeline.

Tank 2 & Tank 3 Upgrades

The upgrades involved an API 653 Inspection, sandblasting, new coatings, lifting tank, undertank inspection, sand bedding replacement, installation of new tank liner and leak detection piping, miscellaneous tank upgrades, hydrostatic test and receipt modification, and delivery piping and valves at tanks.

Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Fuel Facility

The new fueling facility provides additional space for the airport’s ground support equipment vehicles. The project included two new 10,000 gallon diesel and unleaded gasoline aboveground storage tanks, dispensers, off-loading pumps, tank gauging and controls, card reader system, site lighting, containment pad, concrete drive and loading/off-loading areas, new electrical panels and transformer, new security camera, and wireless antennas and equipment for communication to remote tank farm facility.

Terminal Piping Upgrades

This final upgrade project at the airport will replace the last of the underground fuel piping with aboveground pipes. New receipt and issue headers will be constructed within the tank farm designed to allow the system to operate continuously during the construction process and to allow future tank outages. In addition to the fuel pipe modifications, the spill containment, drain and waste water treatment systems are being upgraded for the entire tank facility.
