BellSouth Head-End / NOC Facility - Alpharetta, GA

Pond provided design, construction documents (drawings and specifications), and assistance during bidding and negotiation as well as construction phase services for a primary broadcast facility. This broadcast facility is located on a 9.9 acre site in Alpharetta, GA. The facility houses video equipment and the technical support staff required to operate this equipment (approximately 50-70 personnel).

The entire facility is designed to withstand winds of up to 150 miles per hour. The technical build-out in this facility consists of approximately 40,000 square feet of raised floor with an interstitial space for cable trays. The facility has 100% redundant HVAC and an emergency power/UPS.

The total square footage involved in the design is approximately 96,000 square feet. The back of the property serves as the client’s satellite dish area. Initially the client plans to install 14 to 18, 4.5 meter satellite dishes, one to four 13 meter satellite dishes and one tower (receive only, less than 150 feet AGL). The facility, satellite dishes and tower are licensed by the FCC, requiring compliance to very strict FCC technical standards. A second floor was provided of approximately 31,000 square foot of unoccupied space for future expansion.
