Fuel System Upgrades - Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, AZ

Pond provided design-build services at PHX which included a 30 MBL tank addition and a 10” Jet A pipeline relocation.
The 30 MBL tank addition involved the addition of a 30,000 BBL aboveground Jet A storage tank to the existing 120 MBL storage facility. This included design of the tank, ringwall foundation, intermediate dike wall, containment liner, ATG, piping and valves to connect to the existing system, aqueous film forming foam piping system, and cathodic protection system.
The 10” Jet A pipeline relocation involved the relocation of a 600-foot segment of the AFFC 10” jet fuel pipeline between the remote bulk storage facility and the airport tank farm. The project included a new 10” pipeline, a 16” jack and bored casing crossing underneath the UP Railroad, a trenched casing crossing a city street, working within the active railroad right-of-way, two tie-ins, abandonment of 600 feet of 10” pipeline as well as concrete vaults.
