Florida Army National Guard, Environmental Assessment - Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, FL
Pond is conducting an Environmental Assessment (EA) that is evaluating the proposal by the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG) to reactivate the Castellanos Drop Zone (DZ) and establish associated airborne operations (ABNOPS) training exercises on the North Post of Camp Blanding Joint Training Center (CBJTC) in Clay County, Florida. This EA evaluates the potential direct, indirect, and cumulative physical, environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic effects of implementing the Proposed Action and reasonable alternatives to that scenario. In addition to the EA, the contract also includes an Environmental Condition of Property (ECOP) analysis, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) consultation for activation of restricted airspace, and formal Section 7 consultation for potential adverse effects to federally protected species.
