Ferst and Cherry Streetscape - Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA

In conjunction with steam line upgrade work in the area of the intersection of Ferst Drive and Cherry Street, Pond provided design and engineering services for streetscape enhancements and improvement. This project included new sidewalks, curbs, ADA ramps, landscape plantings, street furnishings, and roadway repaving and striping to include bicycle facilities. Very large oak trees existed along the Ferst Drive segment, and through great care and coordination with our partner arborist, Pond made a concerted effort to protect the trees to the greatest extent as part of our design and construction. Bicycle lanes were added to Ferst drive to enhance the safety and priority of cyclists on this corridor.
