Downtown Griffin Transit-Oriented Development - Griffin, GA
Pond prepared a form-based transit-oriented development (TOD) overlay district option for downtown Griffin, Georgia. The TOD implements the city’s downtown LCI. It promoted and protected existing historic resources and advocated the development of new place-specific, sustainable, pedestrian friendly urban forms. The overlay district regulations included extensive graphic illustrations for clarity, consistency, and user-friendliness to promote high quality development. Pond was also selected to prepare a unified development code (UDC) for the City. Pond was selected because of the firms’ expertise not only in zoning but site development, sign regulations and historic preservation. The TOD and UDC depended upon the firm’s administrative expertise across various types of regulations.
