Don Carter State Park Trails Master Plan - Gainesville, GA
In 2014, Pond & Company was contracted with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to undertake a trail Master Planning exercise at Don Carter State Park. At over 1,300 acres Don Carter is the first state park on Lake Lanier. In coordination with park management, community groups, and other stakeholders, Pond performed field reconnaissance with advanced GPS equipment to map and record 25 miles of hiking and equestrian trails throughout the park. Once all stakeholders accepted the master plan, Pond provided construction document services for each section of the trail system, along with typical details and specifications.
