Command Headquarters - Fort Rucker, AL

Pond provided fast-track architectural and engineering services for the design of this 55,000 square foot signature headquarters and administrative building. This project was taken from programming and concept development to final construction documents within a four-month time period. Services provided include comprehensive civil and landscape design for utilities, parking areas, walkways, Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) capabilities, and interior design for the building and furnishings.

This headquarters has command areas and administrative functions, conference rooms, classrooms and a computer operations center. One unique feature of this headquarters is a secure and self-contained basement serving as an emergency operations center, which is operational 24 hours a day to provide situation rooms, break-out areas and high tech communications during disasters. Notable site features include separate parking areas for command staff, a distinguished visitor drop-off area and building orientation which takes advantage of the adjacent parade field.
