Runway 8R Replacement - Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, GA

As part of a joint venture, Pond is providing on-call architectural and engineering services for ongoing civil and utility projects for airside improvements to support the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s $5.4 billion Capital Improvement Program.

This project included reconstruction of the 10,000 foot runway and parallel taxiway within a 60-day construction window. The $91,500,000 project included 265,000 SY of 20” concrete pavement, 20,000 tons of asphalt paving, with an additional 30,000 CY of fill concrete to repair the existing stabilized base and shoulders. Other elements included a pavement underdrain system and airfield lighting.
