Gwinnett County (METRO ATLANTA) GA – [9/28/2018] – The Gwinnett Chamber inaugural Moxie Awards recognize women who are making it happen. Her leadership and dedication have earned Lorraine Green, President of Pond & Company, a nomination in the Influence category.

Lorraine, a Georgia Tech graduate, has been providing engineering and environmental consulting services for over 30 years. Her strong business acumen and desire to serve clients drover her to open Green Environmental at the age of 27. For the next 18 years Lorraine operated as President, establishing herself in the industry as a leader and expert. In 2008, Lorraine joined Pond as a Program Manager in the Energy Division. She was named the first female President of Pond in July 2018.

Lorraine has successfully led the firm through a global expansion, opening offices in Canada, Japan and Spain. This expansion has a direct impact on Metro Atlanta, since all design and engineering work is fed back to the Georgia headquarters office for development, providing more than 550 professional-level jobs in Metro Atlanta.

Lorraine is a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett and The Regional Leadership Institute. She has served on numerous boards, including the Gwinnett Hospital Foundation, Gwinnett Water & Sewer Authority, Peachtree Ridge School Foundation and the Foster Children’s Foundation.

“Lorraine brings decades of experience to her role as President of Pond & Company and has a proven track record of customer-centric, high quality project delivery. Her philosophy of providing services on a personal level, with the goal of advancing and enriching the quality of life in our communities, serves our company well. We are incredibly proud to have her nominated for this award,” said Pond Chairman and CEO, Tony Parker.

The Moxie Awards will recognize individuals and organizations alike. Organizational awards will highlight companies that support the advancement of women, as well as those that are women-led. In addition, individual awards will honor those who are trailblazers in male-dominated fields, Gwinnett County champions, emerging leaders, professionals who are at the peak of their career and those who are generous with their time, talent or resources.

Designations will be given for the following awards: Enlightened Employer Award, Greater Good Award, Influence Award, On the Rise Award, Outstanding Organization Award, Moxie Award and Pay It Forward Award.

“We are fortunate to have such a standout network of women in Gwinnett,” said Alicia Krogh, Vice President of Programs & Events at the Gwinnett Chamber. “This new program will give the Gwinnett Chamber an opportunity to thank and pay tribute to those who do so much for our community.”

The awards ceremony will conclude a two-part program on November 27. It will begin with a panel, featuring Kim Guthrie, President of Cox Media Group, Wendy Johnson, President of Dale Carnegie of Georgia, and Jenny Pruitt, CEO & founder of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty.
