Pond hires Benjamin Entrekin, PE CFPS to lead new compliance program for Oil and Gas division

Pond is pleased to announce its hiring of Benjamin Entrekin as senior fire protection engineer for the Oil and Gas division.

With more than 20 years of consulting experience in the fuel, aviation, midstream, oil and gas, water and wastewater spaces, for both the government and private sectors, Entrekin is a valuable hire for the Pond team.

From working with the Army Corps of Engineers as a project manager and engineer on fueling compliance and design in the jungles of Colombia and Panama-including a drug interdiction boat fueling rehabilitation project-to working with private clients on risk mitigation and compliance programs domestically and across the world, Entrekin brings a focused, one-on-one relationship background that makes him such an asset for Pond.

“I’ve been in every conceivable ‘office’ environment, communicating with laborers and executives alike, so I am equally comfortable in a ditch, a jungle or a boardroom,” said Entrekin.

A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Entrekin took advantage of Tech’s co-op program and began working in the industry, alternating school and work, while pursuing his degree.

Entrekin is a Licensed Mechanical Engineer on all three coasts of the U.S., but also registered as a Certified Fire Protection Specialist through the NFPA-a certification obtained when very few PEs sought this dual registration. These licenses are crucial for maintaining Pond’s Oil and Gas current roster of clients, and its crucial for growing new clients for Pond.

Entrekin is excited to work for Pond, not only consulting with existing clients on all routine fire protection programs, but he is ready to take Pond’s Oil and Gas division into new territories.

“What attracted me to Pond is Pond’s entrepreneurial spirit, which allows me to thrive, to contribute my own ideas, using my specific skillset,” he explained.

His dedication to superior customer service adds another layer to Pond’s commitment to its clients.

“We are excited to bring Ben on board to help us grow our facility compliance program and to add depth to our specialty fire protection group servicing the Oil & Gas market,” said Rodney Hoke, Engineering Technical Director – Oil & Gas Division.
